Portable Appliance Testing

What is P.A.T. Testing?

Portable Appliance Testing (P.A.T. Testing) is an annual safety test of small electrical appliances such as kettles, toasters, radios etc. Organisations are required to have all appliances tested annually, to ensure compliance with Health and Safety in the workplace regulations.

The Big Help Trading is delighted to be able to offer a P.A.T. testing service to churches, community groups and other third sector organisations in Merseyside. We offer a high-quality, friendly service at a fair price. What's more, our service includes added social value with our profits contributing to the operation of our parent charity, the Big Help Project, helping to tackle poverty in Knowsley and the surrounding area.

Who can carry out PAT Testing?

Pat testing (2).jpg

P.A.T. testing needs to be carried out by accredited professionals. Our staff are fully accredited and insured to carry out In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment,  and will ensure that your appliances are safe to use. We will certify your safe items, and flag up any defects where our testing indicates that an item is unsafe.

We also carry out minor repairs such as replacing fuses or rewiring plugs where necessary.

A certificate detailing the results of all P.A.T. tests carried out will be issued upon completion, along with testing labels for each item.
