Big Help Project celebrates 10 years of alleviating food poverty through Tins on Tenth campaign

This year we’re celebrating our 10th anniversary at the Big Help Project, over the past 10 years we have seen people from all walks of life come to us during their time of crisis – whether that be for food, support or advice. We are lucky to have some fantastic volunteers, and donations from the public who have helped us along this journey. However over recent years foodbank usage has increased up and down the country – we responded to this through opening 7 centres for our Knowsley Foodbank, and 12 Community Food Partnerships/Food Clubs throughout the Liverpool City Region.

To celebrate our 10th year, and to help give back to where it all started; we have kicked off our Tins on the Tenth campaign to help tackle food poverty and give back to the community. On the 10th of every month, we will be collecting donations for our foodbank.

What do we need?

Things we especially need for food parcels that we run out of quickly are: tins of meat, fish, vegetables and fruit.

Ways to get involved

There are many ways to get involved with Tins on the Tenth, whether that be collecting tins with your family, friends, workplace, school; or sharing our campaign on social media using the hashtags #UntilitsDone #TinsontheTenth. Make sure to share you collections on social media and tag us in the pictures!
